Dog Sledding the Rapid River Country Explore the winter wilderness of the Rapid River country. You will travel for two days by dog sled to reach your camp in a very remote part of the Rapid River. The Rapid does not freeze in the winter so your camp on the river has beautiful mist rising from the water. Here you will have a layover day to explore the area by ski or snowshoe in search of otter, moose, deer and other wildlife. This country has one of the largest deer herds in the Northeast.
