Tour Itinerary
Days 1-3: Dogsledding or Cross Country Skiing These trips are a combination of dogsledding and cross country skiing. Half the group dogsleds into camp on the first day and half the group cross country skiis into camp. The distance varies depending on trail conditions but is usually four and half miles for skiiers and five to six miles for mushers. If this is a two-day trip, on the last day the group switches so mushers now ski and skiiers now mush out.
On a three-day trip, on our middle day there is a day outing where half the group skiis and half the group mushes to a lunch spot, and then you switch for the way back to basecamp. Travel the same way out the last day as described for a two-day trip.
Mahoosuc provides all the food and gear (including boots, parkas, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, gaitors, and duffel bags).
Reservation Policy
Mahoosuc requires a $100 deposit per person to hold space and ask for full payment one month before the trip starts.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel, deposits are non-refundable. From 45-14 days money is non-refundable but you may apply the amount to another trip for one year, minus your deposit. Within 14 days money is non-transferable and non-refundable.
If they cancel: Mahoosuc only cancels a trip for safety reasons (i.e. flooding, bad ice, extreme windchill). They travel in all conditions including rain and thaws. If extreme weather conditions prevent you from traveling to Maine for your trip you may use the full amount less the deposit for another trip for one year from trip starting date.
